Our Policies

Payment
LiveWire Catering will reserve your function date for $300 deposit at time of booking. The balance is due 72 hours prior to your function. If you book less than three months in advance, a down payment of 40% of full amount of catering is required at time of booking. Payment is based on the number of confirmed guests, plus any extra guests who attend. Guaranteed guest numbers are required 10 days prior to your event. Currently, we accept cash, Visa, and Mastercard (2% processing fee will applied to all credit card payments).

Cancellations
In the event of a cancellation, the following applies:
  • With two (2)  or more weeks notice, LiveWire Catering retains 50% of deposit.
  • With less than 2 weeks notice, LiveWire Catering retains 100% of deposit.
  • With 72 hours or more notice, LiveWire Catering retains 40% of down payment.
  • With less than 72 hours notice, LiveWire Catering retains 75% of down payment
If you are renting dishware and cutlery from the hall, I will hire a dishwasher at the rate of $22/hr for a 4-hour shift.

Staff Rates
The prices include all necessary staff to ensure a flawlessly presented function. Your kitchen will be clean and left as it was before we arrived. Staff will stay until the meal has been served and cleared, and all cleanup in the kitchen is complete. This generally should be completed within a 4 hour timeframe. If you wish service beyond this, the staff rate is $22/hr for dishwashers, $30/hr for serving staff.

Attire
Our staff are professionally attired in black shirt and pants or chef jackets and black pants or skirts.

Table Settings
LiveWire Catering will set your tables for a charge of $2 /setting.
Covid-19 Policy
To ensure you and our staffs safety, LiveWire Catering is adhering to all BC Provincial guidelines in relation to Covid-19.  In addition to the Provincial guidelines LiveWire Catering provides the following;

Buffets - All food is served by our qualified staff who are masked and gloved as well as hand sanitizing stations on either end of the buffet.  We required the booking party to have all tables set with plates and require all their guests to maintain recommended social distances while in line.

Hot / Cold Lunches - We offer the option to be severed by a qualified staff member who is masked and gloved or we can provide the lunches pre-sealed & boxed.

Rentals
Costs include all chafing dishes, bowls, platters, trays, serving dishes and utensils necessary to present your meal, but does not include place settings, glasses, linens or other rentals (e.g. centerpieces, decorations etc). We are more than happy to coordinate your rental needs with Triple T Party Rentals to ensure that everything you require is considered and ordered appropriately.
Costs do not include GST (5%) or gratuities.

Food Tasting
Once you have entered into a contract, we will be happy to provide you with a sample of several of your chosen menu items. Adjustments to your menu can be made at this time, but please bear in mind that changes may affect your meal costs.

Leftovers
Any leftover food can be wrapped for you to take home.

Allergies and Special Diets
We are more than happy to accommodate guests with special diet requests or restrictions. Please give us as much time as possible in advance to plan for these considerations.



Helpful Suggestions

Although cost is an important factor in choosing the right caterer, it shouldn’t be your only criteria. Here are some other important things to consider before making your decision.
Food quality and quantity – Does your caterer use only the highest quality meats and produce? Will there be enough food for all your guests?

Extra costs – What’s included in the per person price? What goods and/or services are extra (e.g. dishes, linens, equipment, staff, delivery surcharge)? Are these clearly outlined?

Food safety – Has your caterer’s kitchen been inspected and approved by VIHA? Have the people handling your food earned their Food Safe certificate?

Business licenses, GST # - Does your caterer have the required licenses and GST number?

Insurance and WCB coverage – Does your caterer have the appropriate insurance and WCB coverage?

Staff – Will your event have sufficient staff to ensure flawless service? Are they appropriately dressed and do they conduct themselves professionally?

References/Testimonials – Is your caterer able to provide these?

Your Relationship – Is your caterer easily available to you? Is your caterer open to your ideas and suggestions? Is your caterer knowledgeable? Is your caterer a Registered Chef? Do you have a comfortable working relationship?
Consider the time of year when choosing your menu - Offer your guests a lighter fare in the summer and heartier options in the cooler months.

Limit your selections - Although offering your guests four different main dishes might ensure that everyone will get their favourite, it adds cost to your menu and you will end up with far too much food going to waste. Two entrees or a maximum of three is usually plenty.

Planning a theme celebration? - Black and White Party Rentals has a unique and enormous selection of tablecloths and napkins to complement your theme. From elegant linen, damask and organza to exotic jewel-toned lame and satin, animal prints, playful picnic and western themes, florals and even racing checkers and everything in between, these tablecloths and napkins will set the tone perfectly.

Never underestimate the power of the internet! - Are you considering a theme but are having a hard time coming up with ideas? Why not type in a few words in your favourite search engine and let someone else’s imagination take over?

Can’t find menu items to fit your theme? - Let us make some suggestions or simply, in a pinch, take some well-known dishes and rename them to fit your theme (why just have roast beef when you could have Beef fit for a Pharaoh at your Egyptian theme party?).
